A-Christian Glass: Made to last … just like the products it sells

By March 12, 2011News

It is rare to find a window and door company where the majority of its employees have between 15 to 20 years of experience. That kind of stability is the foundation of A-Christian Glass, a company built to last; built to serve.

As rapidly as technology changes in the impact-resistant window world –– bigger, better, stronger –– A Christian Glass has remained steps ahead. “We’ve been providing top-of-the-line products for many years; customers know they can trust us to deliver,” says owner Ron Dable. “It’s an extremely competitive business; we are different than most because of the types and amount of products we offer and are usually steps ahead of the competition.”

Beyond providing a superior product, the company goes the extra mile to please customers. “One of the most common questions I get is ‘what can you suggest?’ ” says Dable. “I show them glass A, B and C and explain the benefits, and many times we will end up using all three on the project; most companies are content to provide one option. We give multiple options.”

According to Dable, the industry is in much better shape than a year ago. “There is definitely a lot more movement in both residential and commercial areas than at this same time last year,” he says. “It looks like the economy is showing signs of improving, and that’s very uplifting and positive. Our sales are up between 15 and 20 percent compared to the same quarter last year.”

Whether it’s hurricane windows and doors, custom glass shelves, mirrored walls, or frameless shower enclosures, glass railings and glass staircases, A-Christian Glass is A-rated as a complete glass service house, equipped to meet each customer’s unique needs.

Top products, great savings

Serving customers since 1984, A-Christian Glass has affiliations with top manufacturers that include JeldWen, PGT, CGI and others. “We have developed great working relationships that give us tremendous purchasing power,” Dable says. “Because of that, customers get great products at manageable price points.”

A-Christian Glass negotiates monthly with manufacturers in an effort to secure discounts, but it all hinges on how many windows are sold. If they reach their goals, the company receives discounts that are passed onto the consumer.

“Negotiating on the consumer’s behalf makes us that much stronger, and enhances our volume buying power,” says Dable. “Our pricing is better than that of major retailers. We are sometimes 30 to 40 percent less than Sears, Home Depot and Lowe’s. You go to Home Depot for wrenches and ratchet sets, but we are window people. It’s what we do every day; that’s what we specialize in –– and we never compromise quality.”

Expert installation by professionals

The nature of the business calls for seasoned professionals capable of handling multiple vendors and clients seamlessly. Few do it better than A-Christian Glass.

“We’re glazers by trade –– we cut the glass, fabricate it and install it. No job is too large or too small. Our installation crews are very experienced; some have been with us for 15 years.”

Project managers Stan Chitoff, Francisco Concepcion, Jeff Parsons and Ray Roach are responsible for staying on top of every job. “They make sure things are done right the first time, and on time,” says Dable. “A lot of companies sub out, and that’s a no-no, because there is no control over the installation. Our project managers are on-site; customers know the job is being done right.”

The client list is also impressive, as it includes the Marriott Hotel, The Promenade in Coconut Creek, F.A.U., Delray Racquet Club, Wyndham Hotel Deerfield Beach, Bermuda Cay, The Aragon, St. Andrews County Club, Loews Hotel and various luxury homes.

“Every job is important, but we don’t look at a $1 million job any different than that of several hundred dollars,” says Dable. “Our goal is to provide the best possible product at the best possible price.”

Energy saving windows

A-Christian Glass offers many varieties of glass to save on energy, the majority of which are tinted. “We have deals with all our manufacturers to not charge for tinting, so customers get tinted glass for free,” says Dable.

Replacement of windows and doors could effectively save on energy bills, and we would love the opportunity to demonstrate to any of our potential new clients the options.

A-Christian Glass also uses Sikaflex caulking and Elco tapcons. “Sikaflex is one of the best in the industry and the Elco tapcons are the best in the industry and we factory-paint them tp match the window selection; that way they don’t discolor and last and look great for years to come,” says Dable. “I don’t know too many companies that will go to that extreme.”

Why A-Christian Glass?

“People are tired of going from one place to another; they are tired of companies not returning phone calls; companies that are poorly staffed; or companies going out of business,” says Dable. “We are stable and have a proven track record. If you don’t work with someone credible in today’s market, you’re taking a risk. People want a good product, and they want a company they can depend on. That’s A-Christian Glass.”
